Last fall I took my pedi game to the next level. Kathy Watson’s Polish Change Nail Care Studio in Crofton, Maryland gave me my first waterless pedicure.
Imagine getting a pedicure without water in the tube to prevent cross contamination. It’s something that I never thought about until my appointment, but I haven’t stopped thinking about it since.
I absolutely loved my light gray pedicure! It was so therapeutic to have the chance to recharge!
Not only is Kathy a nail technician, she makes her own polish, and you can select these custom polishes in her salon! Plus Polish Change has: custom nail polish workshops, press on nails workshops, and parties! It’s safe to say I can’t wait to go back!
In celebration of my three-year anniversary and National Manicure Month, Kathy gives the inside scoop into how she relaxes and unwinds.
What are your favorite colors to wear on your nails?
Kathy: “My favorite colors to wear are black, white, and a taupe.”
What is your go-to “all occasion” polish?
Kathy: “My go to polish is black. As long as you keep it looking tight and right, you can rock it for any part of your day.”
How often do you change your nail polish?
Kathy: “I change my nail polish about every other week. Since I work with clients, I prefer wearing our non-toxic gel polish line for durability.”
What are you wearing on your nails right now?
Kathy: “Right now, I’m wearing a taupe on my nails. Well, on Polish Change’s full coverage nail tips.”
Besides getting your nails done, what is your favorite way to pamper yourself?
Kathy: “I really don’t get my nails done so my pampering comes from getting my scalp scratched. Ahhhh!!!”
What time of day are you most productive?
Kathy: “I’m most productive after 10pm. Early on in my entrepreneurial journey, being their for my kiddos was most important. This meant, I wouldn’t work on things until everyone was asleep. That time has just always worked for me.”
Tell me about your proudest moment.
Kathy: “My proudest moment was when I created a nail polish color in honor of my mom and saw it in a bottle. It bought me to tears. It was awesome!!!”
What advice do you have for future Girl Bosses?
Kathy: “Advice I would give is to follow your dream. It may not make sense to others but don’t second guess yourself. Seriously, just do it. Whatever it is came to you as an idea so make it happen.”
